Whether on accident or on purpose, forcing one's body to have shorter or even missed periods can have dire health consequences, and unusually short or long periods should always be spoken about with healthcare professionals.
This data is straightforward and un-complicated in its facts. 3-7 days – a time frame which most of the responses fall into – is considered medically "normal." While there were few responses of 8+ to this survey, periods longer than 7 days are considered unhealthy. According to my survey, the average period is about 5 days long, meaning an 8+ day long period could be double that length, leading to more bleeding, pain, and stress.
