The majority of people who responded to this survey were women, as might be expected. However, it is important to include the remaining 6% in the conversation by using gender neutral, inclusive language. Some people use the term "menstruator" but there is no way to translate that into other languages, so "people who menstruate"  – while harder to say – is best for this situation. Additionally, the word "period" to describe menstruation is a slang word that cannot be translated. Occasionally I will use the term "people with periods," but that too does not work as well as "people who menstruate."
