Thankfully, those experiencing "serious" or "severe" amounts of blood during their periods are in the minority, but they still need our attention and support. A "heavy" period can often mean a greater volume of products, more costly products, more frequent trips to change out products, medication, leakage, and more stress. If someone in your life experiences what they describe as a serious or severe amount of blood on their period, you can be an ally by having extra products or providing emotional support. This goes for all allies to people with periods, but is especially important for the menstruators whose periods prove to be extra tricky.
Because this survey is for people with periods, it makes sense that no one would respond that they had no blood on their periods. This graph displayed the highest percentage of responses saying "moderate" of the three graphs that use this scale, which is intriguing. Before the survey, I thought that the amount of blood would have varied responses, with more of an even graph.
Amount of Period Blood Data
Most respondees reported a moderate amount of blood, and no one responded "none" for blood which makes sense since they all had periods.
