About Period Power

My name is Eleanor Ragle, and I am a Girl Scout Ambassador in Troop #3815. I am working on my Gold Award Project, which is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn and consists of an 80-hour, community-oriented project. My Gold Award Project is called Period Power, and is aimed at understanding what people do and don’t know about periods, then helping them learn more!

The first step in my plan was to survey 200+ people ages 14 and older. Whatever their gender and regardless of whether they did or didn’t have a period, I asked them about their experiences with periods and what they would like to learn.

After receiving many answers, I have added my findings to this website. As more survey data comes in I will continue to update my findings. While the survey will continue to be open for many months, I will soon move on to the next step of my project, which is workshops!

I will be facilitating several workshops focused on period-centric topics such as “international period stigma” and “what it's like to have a period as a transgender or non-binary person.” The workshops will happen online later this year. You can sign up on the "Workshops" page, or check back after for the recordings that you can watch on your own time!
